IMI Announces the Revamped Leading and Shaping Sustainability into the Future Programme
IMI is proud to announce the launch of the second cohort of its newly enhanced Leading and Shaping Sustainability into the Future programme. This cutting-edge programme is designed to empower senior leaders across all sectors to integrate sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into their organisations’ core strategies, driving growth while addressing urgent global challenges.
Supported by the Skillnet Climate Ready Academy, the programme offers 50% funding on fees for qualifying organisations, reflecting the growing demand for accessible, practical sustainability education in the business community.
Addressing Key Leadership Challenges
The programme responds to pressing challenges faced by leaders today, including aligning organisational culture with sustainability objectives, navigating complex ESG regulations, and engaging diverse stakeholder groups. Participants will gain tools and frameworks to develop resilience, manage risks, and drive sustainable transformation.

Delivered by a distinguished faculty, the programme brings together thought leaders and practitioners with expertise in ESG integration, systems thinking, and sustainable innovation. Key faculty members include:
- Mary Cronin, Chartered Engineer and Circular/ESG consultant, known for her strategic work in creating sustainable business models.
- Dr. Celine McInerney, CFO of Gaothlinn Energy, an expert in sustainable finance and energy strategy.
- Scott Bowie and David Howe, Directors at Jordisk Consulting, specialists in ESG compliance and data management.
Programme Structure and Highlights
Running from January to March 2025, the 12-week programme blends virtual and in-person learning, including:
- Four interactive workshops, covering sustainability vision-setting, ESG strategies, technology integration, and stakeholder engagement.
- Mentorship, providing tailored guidance to help participants craft actionable ESG roadmaps.
- Peer Learning Circles, fostering collaboration and shared insights among participants.
- Capstone Showcase, where participants present their sustainability action plans.
The programme also emphasises practical application, with leaders gaining hands-on experience in using ESG tools and frameworks tailored to their unique organisational needs.

Previous participants include organisations such as Laya, Bank of Ireland, Glanbia, Gas Networks Ireland, Alcon, and Kirby. Alumni have highlighted the programme’s ability to clarify ESG priorities, strengthen strategic planning, and foster meaningful organisational change.
